Delete Your Account
You can delete your Unbot account at any time. Deleting your account removes your profile, your content and your personal data from Unbot.
Deleting from inside the app
Open Unbot, go to your profile, and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm. Once confirmed, deletion begins immediately and cannot be undone.
Requesting deletion by email
If you no longer have access to the app, email team@unbotapp.com from the college email address registered to your account, with the subject line Delete my account. We use the sending address to confirm the request is genuine, so please write from the registered address. We will acknowledge your request within 24 hours and complete deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account and login credentials.
- Your email address and college association.
- Your display name, profile and settings.
- Your posts, comments, poll responses and uploaded images.
- Your direct messages.
- Your responses to the Bot and any preferences derived from them.
- Your push notification tokens.
What may be retained, and for how long
- Safety and moderation records. Where an account has been the subject of a report or enforcement action, we retain a minimal record for up to 12 months so that the same account cannot immediately return. This record does not include your content.
- Records required by law. Where a law, regulation or lawful order requires us to retain information, we keep it for as long as required and no longer.
- Content in shared conversations. Replies you made in threads started by other users may remain visible with your identity removed, so that others’ conversations remain readable.
- Backups. Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before being overwritten.
After deletion
Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore a deleted account or its content. If you wish to use Unbot again, you will need to sign up afresh and verify your college email address again.
